About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Creative Therapist, Mental Health Specialist to join our team at BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients by providing art therapy services that promote healing and recovery.
Job Description
- Develop and Implement Art Therapy Programs: Create and deliver art therapy programs that cater to the diverse needs of our clients. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Provide One-on-One and Group Sessions: Conduct one-on-one and group sessions using various art forms to help clients express themselves and work through challenging emotions.
- Evaluate Program Effectiveness: Monitor program outcomes and provide regular feedback to improve service delivery.
- Foster Strong Interdisciplinary Relationships: Work closely with healthcare professionals from various disciplines to ensure comprehensive care planning.
What You'll Need
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Master of Arts Degree in Art Therapy or a related field.
- At least two years of recent experience providing art therapy services, coaching, and group facilitation to individuals with mental illness or substance abuse issues.
- Registration with the British Columbia Art Therapy Association (BCATA) is mandatory.
- A strong understanding of recovery principles and practices in mental health.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a self-organizing team.
- Familiarity with community-based programs and services.
- Physical ability to perform the job requirements.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date on best practices in art therapy.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary range of $83,000 - $112,000 per year, depending on your level of experience.
