Fraser Health is a leading provider of mental health services in British Columbia, and we are currently seeking a skilled Behavioural Therapist to join our team as a Youth Mental Health Specialist. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to children and youth living with challenging behaviours and/or mental illness.

About the Role:

  • You will be responsible for assessing clients, determining referral needs, and formulating treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each individual.
  • As a Behavioural Therapist, you will provide comprehensive psychotherapy/counselling to clients utilizing techniques appropriate for children and youth living with developmental disability.
  • You will also design and implement non-aversive behavioural interventions for children and youth living with challenging behaviours and/or mental illness/developmental disability.
  • Your expertise will be utilized to provide clinical consultation and follow-up support on treatment decisions, ensuring seamless collaboration between members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • In addition to direct client care, you will develop, coordinate, and deliver in-services, education sessions, presentations, and training to clients, their families, support networks, and other relevant agencies.

Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in an applicable social or health sciences program such as Counselling Psychology or other relevant discipline.
  • Two years recent, related counselling experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Eligible for membership/registration with a relevant professional association.
  • A valid B.C. driver's license and possession of a personal vehicle for business use.
