Job Title: Fort Whoop-Up Site Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced professional to develop and supervise operations at Fort Whoop-Up, aligning with the organization's vision and mission.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of off-season visitor activities, including rentals, special events, and curriculum student access. They will also participate in the recruitment and selection of staff, assign projects, and supervise seasonal staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with development plans, including programming, projects, interpretation, tours, exhibits, education, and outreach.
  • Coordinate off-season visitor activities, including rentals, special events, and curriculum student access.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff.
  • Assign projects and supervise seasonal staff and volunteers.
  • Report performance indicators, such as evaluations, visitation, and program numbers.
  • Build store inventory, maintain stock, price, and sales.
  • Purchase supplies, equipment, and services for day-to-day operation of the site.
  • Ensure facilities, equipment, and property are maintained.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of post-secondary education in an applicable field.
  • Knowledge of regional history and experience in practices of historic interpretation and education.
  • Experience in leading people is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in point of sale (POS) systems.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems.
