We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced heritage professional to join our team at the Galt Museum & Archives. As a Fort Whoop-Up Site Coordinator, you will play a key role in developing and supervising operations at the site, ensuring that our vision and mission are fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development of plans, including programming, projects, interpretation, tours, exhibits, education, and outreach.
- Coordinate off-season visitor activities, including rentals, special events, curriculum student access, resource protection, safety, and non-routine maintenance.
- Participate in the recruitment, interviews, and selection of staff.
- Assign projects and supervise seasonal staff and volunteers, setting priorities, work schedules, and evaluating personnel.
- Report on performance indicators, such as evaluations, visitation, and program numbers.
- Build and maintain store inventory, pricing, and sales.
- Purchase supplies, equipment, and services for day-to-day operation of the site.
- Ensure facilities, equipment, and property are maintained.
- A minimum of two years of post-secondary education in an applicable field.
- Knowledge of regional history and experience in practices of historic interpretation and education.
- Experience in leading people would be considered an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in point of sale (POS) systems.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems.
