Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Fort Whoop-Up Site Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is seeking to expand their professional portfolio of work, as the Fort prepares to offer an exciting calendar of programs and events for the future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development of plans, including programming, projects, interpretation, tours, exhibits, education, and outreach.
  • Coordinate all aspects of off-season visitor activities, including rentals, special events, curriculum student access, resource protection, safety, and non-routine maintenance.
  • Participate in the recruitment, interviews, and selection of staff.
  • Assign projects and supervise seasonal staff and volunteers, setting priorities, work schedules, and evaluating personnel.
  • Report on performance indicators, such as evaluations, visitation, and program numbers.
  • Build and maintain store inventory, including pricing and sales.
  • Purchase supplies, equipment, and services for day-to-day operation of the site.
  • Ensure that facilities, equipment, and property are maintained.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years of post-secondary education in an applicable field.
  • Knowledge of regional history and experience in practices of historic interpretation and education.
  • Experience in leading people would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in point of sale (POS) systems.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems.
