About the Role

Bridgeway Family Homes is seeking highly skilled professionals to join our team as Family Support Specialists. As a Family Support Specialist, you will work with families, children, and youth who are experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Communicate effectively with our collaborative team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Goal-Focused Services: Provide scheduled, goal-focused services to families and individuals, including developing and implementing goal-focused activities.
  • Case Management: Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and other administrative tasks to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Transportation: Safely transport children/youth while providing services.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Certificate, diploma, or degree in a social service discipline (i.e. Child and Youth Care, Developmental Service Worker, etc.) from a recognized college or university.
  • Experience: Experience providing services to children/youth and/or families with a variety of needs.
  • Certifications: Current Crisis Intervention Certification (i.e. UMAB) is an asset.
  • First Aid and CPR: Current CPR/First Aid is required.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of FASD, ODD, autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and other diagnoses is an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational, administrative, and report-writing skills.
Additional Requirements
  • Criminal Record Check: Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (obtained from local Police).
  • Child Welfare Record Check: Current Child Welfare Record Check (obtained from local Children's Aid Society).
  • Driver's License: Driver's Abstract, Class "G" Driver's License.
  • Vehicle Insurance: Access to an insured vehicle with $2 million liability insurance.
