The Rehabilitation Specialist operates under the guidance of the Rehabilitation Services Manager. This professional collaborates with clients, their families, and caregivers to enhance, restore, or sustain the highest possible level of functionality in self-care, work, and recreational activities. The Specialist conducts assessments, treatments, evaluations, and follow-ups while engaging in various settings, including healthcare facilities, clients' residences, and community environments. Together with clients, the Specialist formulates personalized treatment strategies and objectives, effectively manages a diverse caseload, and employs clinical judgment to prioritize daily challenges. Strong interpersonal and written communication abilities are essential. The Specialist also provides education and support to clients, families, and caregivers. As a vital member of both the occupational therapy team and the broader healthcare team, the Specialist contributes to the training of students in occupational therapy and related health fields, as well as overseeing the work of Occupational Therapy Assistants. Adherence to organizational policies and the professional standards set by the regulatory body is required. The successful candidate may be called upon to deliver services across the Rehabilitation Services spectrum.

- A Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy
- Mandatory licensure with the provincial regulatory authority
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to lead educational initiatives and engage positively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- A commitment to fostering a respectful culture that emphasizes safety, ethical practices, cultural sensitivity, and organizational well-being
- The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, while effectively planning, organizing, and supervising tasks
- Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the service and the facility
- Competence to work independently or alongside team members in all service environments
- Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous, with French being preferred

- Permanent Full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
The hourly wage is $42.89.
Successful candidates may qualify for a comprehensive benefits package, which encompasses health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, in addition to a defined benefit pension plan (applicable for permanent long assignments only).
