Salary
The salary for this position is approximately $49.72 per hour, based on industry standards and cost of living in the region.

Job Description
This role requires a highly skilled Registered Nurse/RPN with experience in mental health and substance use treatment. As a Mental Health Care Specialist, you will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide person-centered care to individuals with mental illness and concurrent disorders.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate care for clients by collaborating with interprofessional care teams, conducting mental health assessments, and developing comprehensive treatment plans.
- Provide direct nursing care to clients, including administering prescribed medications, monitoring vital signs, and assessing client response to treatment.
- Work from a strengths-based model, using motivational interviewing and engagement techniques to support client self-determination and independence.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with clients and their families, promoting empathy, respect, and cultural safety.

Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
- Two years of recent related experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
