Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing site investigations, inspections, and surveys. They will also prepare plans, proposals, specifications, tenders, supporting documents, reports, and permit applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform site investigations, inspections, and surveys to ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
- Prepare plans, proposals, specifications, tenders, supporting documents, reports, and permit applications to facilitate project execution.
- Complete, review, and approve deliverables to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Prepare AutoCAD drawings from sketches, mark-ups, and/or design notes to support project development.
- Manage project tasks within assigned time and budget constraints to ensure timely completion.
- Develop strong initiative and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Work independently on projects when required and collaborate with team members to achieve project goals.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D is an asset) to support project development.
- Assist in work delegation between office locations and supervise as required to ensure project success.
Requirements
- Valid designation in Ontario.
- Knowledge of residential, commercial, and industrial engineering and construction related to civil/structural disciplines.
- Strong proficiency in computer-aided design software (CAD).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with other professionals and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations in Ontario.
- Valid driver's license and vehicle for occasional travel.
