Position Overview

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and well-connected professional to oversee our projects in the Northern Ontario region. The ideal candidate will possess extensive consulting experience, enabling them to cultivate relationships both internally and externally. Utilizing municipal infrastructure expertise, client relationship management, and account management skills, the successful applicant will identify and develop opportunities in Northern Ontario and its surroundings. This position offers flexibility to work remotely or from various Northern Ontario offices.

The role encompasses project execution, team leadership, marketing/business development, and office administration. It is ideal for individuals seeking increased responsibilities in a rewarding environment. The candidate should have a strong background in civil engineering, civil technology, and construction management principles, along with familiarity in the design, construction, and maintenance of municipal infrastructure systems. Responsibilities will include team building, mentoring, client management, and proposal preparation. Key skills to be utilized or developed include project management, staff supervision, civil engineering, construction management, and report/proposal writing within a collaborative consulting engineering atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Significantly contribute to the design, production, coordination, and management of municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting quality standards and client expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineers, designers, and project managers as an integral part of a multidisciplinary project delivery team.
  • Exhibit a commitment to excellence and innovation in all aspects of work.
  • Guarantee the accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical information and project documentation in line with QA/QC protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures, and sound engineering practices.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in working hours and conditions.
  • Coordinate and write reports for Environmental Assessments related to Municipal Class EAs.
  • Prepare project designs and tender documents.
  • Supervise and guide technical staff.
  • Assist in proposal preparation and budget estimation.
  • Adhere to corporate safety goals and initiatives.
  • Follow corporate project management systems and protocols.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of consulting experience in municipal infrastructure or water resources projects, or equivalent experience/education.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario or eligible for registration within 6-12 months.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of consulting experience in municipal infrastructure or water resources projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience overseeing and coordinating technical aspects of small to mid-size projects.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, along with effective report writing abilities.
  • Natural business development capabilities and strong client relationship management skills are advantageous.
Additional Information:
  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Compensation will be determined based on location and individual qualifications, with an expected range of $107,000 to $155,000.
