Position Overview

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and well-connected professional to oversee our projects and teams in the Northern Ontario area. Ideal candidates will possess extensive consulting experience, enabling them to cultivate relationships both internally and externally. This role requires leveraging municipal infrastructure expertise and client management skills to identify and develop opportunities within Northern Ontario and its vicinity. The position is flexible, allowing for remote work or office-based arrangements.

This role encompasses project management, team leadership, business development, and administrative functions, appealing to those seeking greater responsibilities in a fulfilling and engaging environment. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in civil engineering, civil technology, and construction management, along with familiarity in the design, construction, and maintenance of municipal infrastructure systems. Responsibilities will include team building, mentoring, client engagement, and proposal development. Key skills utilized in this role will include project management, staff oversight, civil engineering, construction management, and technical writing, all within a collaborative consulting engineering atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Significantly contribute to the design, production, coordination, and management of municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget while meeting quality standards and client expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and project managers as an integral member of a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Exhibit a commitment to excellence and innovation in all endeavors.
  • Maintain accuracy and quality of technical information and project documentation in line with QA/QC protocols.
  • Ensure engineering outputs adhere to relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Be open to flexible working hours and various working conditions.
  • Coordinate and write reports for Environmental Assessments related to Municipal Class EAs.
  • Prepare project designs and tender documentation.
  • Supervise and guide technical personnel.
  • Assist in drafting proposals and budget estimates.
  • Adhere to corporate safety objectives and initiatives.
  • Follow corporate project management systems and procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of consulting experience in municipal infrastructure or water resources projects, or equivalent experience/education.
  • Professional Engineer registration in Ontario or eligibility to register within 6-12 months.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Over 10 years of consulting experience in municipal infrastructure or water resources projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in overseeing and coordinating technical aspects of small to mid-sized projects.
  • Proficient in advanced Word and Excel applications.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including effective report writing.
  • Natural aptitude for business development and client relationship management.
Additional Information:
  • This position does not offer sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization.

Compensation will be determined based on location and individual qualifications, with an expected range of $107,000 to $155,000.
