Position Overview

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and well-connected professional to spearhead our initiatives in the Northern Ontario region. Ideal candidates will possess substantial consulting experience, enabling them to cultivate relationships both internally and externally. Utilizing municipal infrastructure knowledge and client management skills, the selected individual will identify and develop opportunities in Northern Ontario and adjacent regions. This position offers flexibility, allowing for remote work or office-based arrangements.

The role encompasses project execution, team leadership, business development, and administrative responsibilities, appealing to those seeking a challenging and fulfilling career. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of civil engineering principles, construction management, and the operation and maintenance of municipal infrastructure systems. Responsibilities will include team building, mentoring, client management, and proposal development. Key skills to be utilized or enhanced in this role include project management, staff oversight, civil engineering, construction management, and report writing, all within a dynamic consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, production, coordination, and management of municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget while meeting quality standards and client expectations.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and project managers as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Commit to excellence and innovation in all project undertakings.
  • Guarantee the accuracy and quality of technical documentation in line with QA/QC protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and corporate procedures.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in working hours and conditions.
  • Coordinate environmental assessments and prepare associated reports.
  • Develop project designs and tender documentation.
  • Guide and supervise technical staff.
  • Assist in proposal and budget preparation.
  • Adhere to corporate safety objectives and initiatives.
  • Follow corporate project management systems and protocols.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of consulting experience in municipal infrastructure or water resources projects, or equivalent experience and education.
  • Professional Engineer registration in Ontario or eligibility to register within 6-12 months.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Over 10 years of consulting experience in municipal infrastructure or water resources projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience managing and coordinating technical aspects of small to mid-sized projects.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with effective report writing abilities.
  • Natural aptitude for business development and client relationship management.
Additional Information:
  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Compensation will be determined based on location and individual qualifications, with an expected range of $107,000 to $155,000.
