Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our Banquet Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of events and providing exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Execution: Assist in the overall success of the Banquet Department by executing strategies for service goals and employing leadership and management skills effectively.
  • Communication: Review all written communications (BEO's, room/station assignments, room set ups, etc.) and adjust accordingly, communicating all changes with the Banquet Department.
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Check all staffing needs for upcoming events and maintain a strong client relationship, ensuring that all convention specifications are met.
  • Pre-Function Briefings: Conduct pre-function briefings to ensure grooming standards of team members are met and inform staff of specific needs for buffet and receptions.
  • Station Allocation: Allocate stations, team partners for staff, and review banquet event orders.
  • Team Support: Provide daily support and guidance to fellow banquet team members, monitoring job performance and maintaining a high level of service.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management and report all maintenance, repair or housekeeping concerns to the appropriate department immediately.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal departments and clients.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Possess high energy, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and grow, with the ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Team Player: Be a well-presented and well-groomed team player, with a commitment to providing a Great Experience and Memory to all guests.
  • Criminal Record Check: Be able to successfully obtain a criminal record check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB).
  • Service Excellence: Demonstrate a commitment to continually increase your knowledge of our products and services, with a focus on providing exceptional experiences to our guests.
  • Personal and Professional Development: Be willing to learn, develop, and achieve new skills for personal and professional development, with a focus on living GCGC's Values on the job.
