Job Title: Banquet Captain

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team at Great Canadian Entertainment. As a Banquet Captain, you will play a key role in ensuring the success of our events and providing exceptional service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning and execution of events, including reviewing event details, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring that all necessary arrangements are in place.
  • Lead a team of banquet staff to provide exceptional service to guests, including managing staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with the banquet chef to ensure that all food and beverage services meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors to ensure that their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Monitor and control event budgets, ensuring that expenses are within approved limits.
  • Conduct pre-function briefings to ensure that all staff are aware of event details and expectations.
  • Allocate staff and resources to ensure that events run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to guest inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and vendors.
  • Proven experience in event planning and management, with a strong understanding of event logistics and operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality or a related field an asset.
