Program Manager, Anti-Sexual Harassment and Gender-Based Violence

About the Opportunity
The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly qualified Program Manager to oversee the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of an integrated education plan for undergraduate students in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering.
Job Summary:
This is a full-time contract position with an estimated salary of $75,000 - $95,000 per year, contingent on funding. The Program Manager will work closely with the Director, Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office, and the Chair, Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, to ensure that the education plan meets legislative and statutory requirements, as well as university policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and Strategic Planning: Identify educational requirements mandated by various statutory requirements, conduct literature reviews, and collaborate with stakeholders to identify gaps and barriers in the delivery of training and education.
- Training and Education within MME: Work with colleagues to design and deliver programs, workshops, and training related to gender-based violence, develop theme-based training, and provide booster sessions to employees.
- Training and Education within SVPRO: Support the coordination of campus-wide sexual violence prevention and education initiatives, assist with program evaluation, and engage in ongoing assessment of learning needs.
- Consultation, Partnerships and Support: Develop external partnerships, work closely with the SVPRO educators, and provide mentorship and coaching to support campus stakeholders.
- Administrative Duties: Support the Sexual Violence Prevention Strategy, attend regular supervision, and adhere to confidentiality guidelines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Education, Gender Studies, Sexuality and Women's Studies, Criminology, Social Work, Sociology, Community Psychology); Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in sexual and gender-based violence prevention education, trauma-informed approaches, human rights.
- 3+ years professional experience providing support and/or counseling to survivors of interpersonal violence.
- Understanding and experience applying intersectional, feminist, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and anti-racist practices relating to sexual and gender-based violence.
- Experience integrating best practices in program development, implementation, and delivery.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities simultaneously.
