Psychologist Assistant, Minimum and Medium Security Units

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Psychologist Assistant to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). As a Psychologist Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our Forensic Psychologists in conducting comprehensive assessments and providing treatment services to individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and score standardized psychological tests and assessments, including MMPI-2, MCMI-IV, WAIS-IV, WMS-IV, CVLT-II, and WCST.
- Provide detailed written descriptions of client behavior during testing, including observations of affect, motivation, and response to failure and success.
- Assist Forensic Psychologists in administering specialized forensic assessment measures to assess risk and treatment needs.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and charts, including test results and observations.
- Participate in educational meetings, staff meetings, and treatment team conferences.
- Contribute to research activities, including literature reviews, research applications, and funding submissions.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
- Recognized training and/or experience in administering a wide variety of psychodiagnostic tests.
- Specialized academic course and experience in forensic psychology, including risk assessment and risk management.
- Valid BC Driver's License.
