Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapy department at Hamilton Health Sciences is a team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to providing specialized respiratory care to patients in critical care settings. We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients in ICU, CCU, and other critical care areas
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices
  • Conduct ECG interpretations, pressure monitoring, and airway management
  • Perform adult oral endotracheal intubation, arterial blood gas sampling, and tracheostomy management
  • Develop and implement education programs for patients and families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Current General Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO)
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) exam
  • Valid BCLS and ACLS certifications
  • Recent experience (within the last 2 years) in adult critical care
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
