rensic Psychologist
to join our interdisciplinary team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. This is a permanent, full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly.

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide psychological services to patients within the Psychiatric Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit and other programs as needed. Duties will include conducting comprehensive assessments, providing treatment through individual and group settings, and participating in the predoctoral internship program and supervision of practicum students. The Clinical Psychologist will also be required to participate and testify before the Criminal Code Review Board of Nova Scotia.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist with a recognized MSc or PhD in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university program. A minimum of two years relevant clinical experience is preferred. Preference will be given to those individuals with violence risk assessment training/experience and those with experience in a forensic inpatient setting.

Requirements
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the NSBEP
  • Experience and expertise in conducting structured clinical interviews and assessments
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in formulating and implementing treatment plans
  • Able to work effectively with resistant and sometimes challenging client groups
  • Self-directed in practice with an ability to work independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Competencies in other languages is an asset, French preferred

What We Offer

The salary for this position will be between $50.19-$62.74 per hour, depending on qualifications.
