About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen operations and ensuring that our guests receive an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement menus that showcase our culinary expertise and meet the expectations of our guests.
    • Work closely with our culinary team to ensure that dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Kitchen Operations
    • Supervise and manage the kitchen staff, including cooks, chefs, and other kitchen personnel.
    • Ensure that all kitchen operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Food Safety and Quality
    • Implement and maintain high standards of food safety and quality in the kitchen.
    • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all dishes meet our standards.
  • Staff Management
    • Recruit, train, and develop the skills of our kitchen staff.
    • Provide coaching and feedback to ensure that staff are meeting their performance expectations.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage the inventory of food and kitchen supplies to ensure that we have the necessary resources to meet our culinary needs.
    • Work closely with our procurement team to source high-quality ingredients and supplies.
  • Financial Management
    • Manage the kitchen budget to ensure that we are operating within our financial targets.
    • Work closely with our finance team to ensure that all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Diploma or certificate in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of experience as a senior chef or kitchen manager in a high-volume restaurant or hotel.
  • Skills
    • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food safety and quality standards.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, guests, and other stakeholders.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly.
