Job Description:

As a Senior Metallurgist/Process Engineer, you will play a key leadership role in optimizing flotation circuits and conducting pilot plant studies globally. Your responsibilities will include analyzing and interpreting metallurgical and operational data to drive performance improvements.

You will design and execute test campaigns for flotation circuits and mineral processing plants, oversee and conduct pilot plant campaigns remotely and onsite, and mentor junior metallurgical engineers.

Your duties will also include leading commissioning of mineral processing equipment, supporting troubleshooting efforts onsite, and preparing technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret metallurgical and operational data to drive performance improvements
  • Design and execute test campaigns for flotation circuits and mineral processing plants
  • Oversee and conduct pilot plant campaigns remotely and onsite
  • Mentor junior metallurgical engineers
  • Lead commissioning of mineral processing equipment
  • Support troubleshooting efforts onsite
  • Prepare technical documentation (e.g., reports, manuals, specifications, PFDs, mass balances, and P&IDs for flotation plants)

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will require a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Mining Engineering, or a related field. A professional engineering designation is an asset.

You must have proven expertise in start-up, commissioning, and optimization of mineral processing plants, as well as strong experience with pilot plant operations, including both design and execution of complex campaigns.

Desirable Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • In-depth mineral processing knowledge, particularly in flotation and plant optimization
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a creative and proactive approach
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is an asset
  • International work experience or the ability to navigate cross-cultural technical projects is highly valued
