Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Capital Projects Manager to join our team at the City of Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex capital construction projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project plans, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Manage and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project delivery.
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to budget and financial regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure effective project delivery.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as construction management, engineering, or architecture.
  • Considerable experience in capital construction project management, including experience with complex projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in MS Project, Excel, and other project management software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with construction management software and systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
