About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Proposal Specialist to join our team at ABB. As a key member of our Sales and Marketing team, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate, creative, and precise solutions to our customers in the area of Field Service Solutions, specifically in Low Voltage modernization activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Sales team and Field Service technicians in generating solutions and associated costing via a Full Cost Model to place us in a favorable market position when responding to RFIs, RFPs, etc.
  • Work with the Engineering, Market Development Specialist, Regional Sales Manager, Field Service Operations, purchasing, and external vendors to generate accurate costs, negotiate best possible pricing and deliveries with all vendors.
  • Provide relevant experience and knowledge to propose all in-field service times and requirements.
  • Manage proposal documents, responses, and requests when received from the Sales Managers and customers.
  • Follow all required protocols for approvals, legal reviews, pricing, and technical reviews/approvals.
  • Develop and maintain relations with feeder plants, product specialists, Field Service Operations, and third-party vendors to ensure favorable and rapid responses.
  • Assist in building and managing pricing tools, estimators, and standardized pricing to enable better efficiency of the team.
  • Take a proactive sales approach and work with marketing to improve our media to customers, quote documents, and areas where we can provide proven solutions and standard pricing.
  • Drive our Low Voltage market growth by looking for means to be faster at responding, more competitive, and with high profitability.
Requirements
  • Years of relevant Field Service Experience in Low Voltage electrical maintenance, repair, commissioning, and installation.
  • Extensive knowledge on Low Voltage products.
  • Work with ServIS, BOL, SAP, SalesForce, Microsoft Office, and other software tools to identify opportunities, install base, and manage the overall business.
  • Strong safety focus and safety attitude always required.
  • Willingness to expand knowledge base to continually grow needed skills for success.
  • Strong communication skills in both French and English. French is required. English is required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
