About the Role

Air Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its Legal Department. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in supporting the airline's strategic objectives and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice on regulatory aviation law, competition law, trade and economic sanctions, anti-corruption laws, and international matters
  • Work on alliance and strategic partnerships, including interlining, code shares, and joint ventures
  • Assess legal risk and provide strategic advice on regulatory initiatives and business projects
  • Act as a key player or strategic business advisor for various client groups
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in a major law firm or an established in-house legal department
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Good business judgment and strategic, pragmatic, and thorough approach
  • Ability to understand, anticipate, and meet client needs
  • Strong advocacy and written and oral communication skills
