Job Summary

The Intermediate Manufacturing Engineer is a key member of our production team, responsible for managing the production floor processes and equipment. This includes new equipment launches, modifications, and ensuring that equipment is designed and built to meet safety standards, labor utilization, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement new and modified manufacturing processes by researching, designing, testing, and conferring with equipment vendors as needed.
  2. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout for waste elimination and business cost-savings opportunities.
  3. Utilize data collection to inform decision-making.
  4. Design and implement new tooling as required.
  5. Provide daily production support and troubleshooting as needed.
  6. Develop standard operating procedures and assist in training.
  7. Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements.
  8. Coordinate prototype and production runs through new program launches.
  9. Support the Engineering Change System through analyzing and approving changes.
  10. Support PPAP runs as required.
  11. Assist in the creation of PFMEA, control plans, and other APQP / stage gate related tasks.
Requirements
  1. Possess an engineering degree or diploma; P. Eng would be an asset.
  2. Minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in a lean manufacturing environment.
  3. Some PLC knowledge and programming is an asset.
  4. Troubleshooting pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic prints is an asset.
  5. Robotic experience is an asset.
  6. CNC G-Code experience is an asset.
  7. Good project and time management skills with experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Strong 2D layout and 3D CAD experience; Autocad Inventor is preferred.
  9. Ability to lead and support cross-functional teams.
  10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  11. Knowledge and experience with a variety of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, torque applications, fabrication, robotic applications, and part assembly.
  12. Able to work with minimal supervision, be self-motivated, work in a team environment, and individually.
