Job Title: Laboratory Technologist

Job Summary: The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technologist to join our team at the Qikiqtani General Hospital in Iqaluit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology, Mycobacteriology, and Specimen Receiving/Processing Services
  • Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, analyzing samples and conducting individual patient tests using complex laboratory instrumentation and manual techniques
  • Recognize normal and atypical findings and initiate appropriate action
  • Prepare samples and put them into media to encourage growth and identify growth when present

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a Canadian College or University
  • Certification with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science with a General Certificate in all areas (RT)
  • Experience in all areas of laboratory will be considered a major asset
