This laboratory technologist position comes with a competitive salary range of $89,998 - $102,149 per year, including a Northern Allowance of $16,008.

Job Description

The Qikiqtani General Hospital in Iqaluit has an inpatient ward, emergency department, operating room, and several medical clinics.

As a laboratory technologist, you will work on delivering chemistry, hematology, transfusion medicine, microbiology, mycobacteriology, and specimen receiving/processing services.

You will analyze samples and conduct individual patient tests using complex laboratory instrumentation and manual techniques.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a Canadian college or university.

You should have advanced knowledge of laboratory technologies, principles, and standards of practice, including venipuncture, medical terminology, and the ability to operate and understand complex laboratory instrumentation.

Certification with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science is required, with a General Certificate in all areas (RT).
