Director of Finance Job Description

Robert Half is seeking a highly skilled Director of Finance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, management, and analytical skills to drive financial success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain an organizational structure to achieve departmental goals and objectives
  • Perform financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
  • Oversee daily operations of the finance and accounting department
  • Compare monthly operating results against budget
  • Prepare financial outlooks and forecasts
  • Analyze and monitor forecasting and budgeting models
  • Direct, review, and prepare financial planning and budget management functions
  • Create and manage five-year business plans along with department managers
  • Direct risk and insurance management
  • Manage the preparation of all financial reports
  • Manage the hiring, training, and retention of finance staff
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of finance and accounting experience
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting reporting systems
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • MBA or CPA is required
  • Prior experience with finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including ASNPO
  • Experience with higher level functionality in Microsoft Excel
  • Very detail oriented and expert analytical thinking skills
  • Government reporting experience nice to have
