We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Browns Socialhouse, Tsawwassen. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kitchen management, leadership, and menu planning. As a key member of our culinary team, the Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of food, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
  • Develop and implement menus, taking into account seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
  • Estimate food costs, labor costs, and inventory levels to ensure efficient operations
  • Maintain accurate records of food sales, inventory, and waste to inform menu decisions and cost control
  • Supervise cooking staff, providing guidance on food preparation, presentation, and plating
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new recipes, menu items, and special promotions
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction


Requirements:


  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role in the culinary industry
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a deep understanding of menu planning, food costs, and inventory management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Possession of a valid food safety certification and a commitment to ongoing professional development
