Overview

The BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Development Program Manager to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of youth programs that promote positive outcomes for Indigenous youth in British Columbia.

About the Role

This is a full-time position based at our office in [location]. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and communities, as well as excellent leadership and project management skills. You will be responsible for developing and implementing program strategies, managing budgets, and evaluating program effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement youth program strategies that address the unique needs of Indigenous youth;
  • Manage program budgets and ensure effective use of resources;
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement;
  • Build relationships with community partners and stakeholders to support program delivery;
  • Supervise program staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality program delivery.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in a related field (e.g. social work, education, Indigenous studies);
  • 5+ years of experience in youth program development and management;
  • Strong knowledge of Indigenous cultures and communities;
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous RRSP matching program.
