Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Learning Center Director - Education Program Lead to join our team in Newton, BC. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality educational programs and services to students, while also managing the overall operations of the learning center.

About the Role:

  • Program Development: Support the Centre Director in developing and implementing effective education programs that meet the needs of students.
  • Instructing: Teach Sylvan curriculum in a 1:3 setting to students when necessary, interacting with and motivating students during instruction, and evaluating and documenting student progress after instruction.
  • Conference Activities: Manage and deliver all conference activities, including preparing conference materials and meeting with parents to keep families enrolled in Sylvan.
  • Teacher Training: Ensure that all teachers are trained and certified to deliver Sylvan programs and monitor teacher performance.
  • Staff Development: Motivate and develop staff by providing ongoing learning opportunities.
  • Student Progress: Monitor student progress to ensure goals are achieved and ongoing family needs are met.
  • Communication: Conduct parent conferences on a regular and timely basis, with appropriate documentation.
  • School Relations: Maintain regular contact with schools via teacher conferences either in-person, via email or over the telephone.
  • Centre Operations: Communicate with the Centre Director any concerns regarding student progress or instructor performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience preferred; Experience in supervisor role preferred.
  • Knowledge of current BC educational curriculum and policy.
  • Previous retail and/or sales experience preferred.
  • Be comfortable working with computers and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of iPads and Zoom an asset.
