Job Summary

Cision is seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Overnight Content Editor to join our team. As a key member of our Client Content Services team, you will be responsible for receiving, formatting, and processing client press releases to distribute to the media and other recipients accurately and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Press Release Processing: Receive and validate client press releases to ensure compliance with content acceptability guidelines, format pictures, videos, validate hyperlinks, and edit/modifies press releases on the website (CMS) in English and French.
  2. Distribution and Posting: Disseminate press releases to the media via Canada Newswire distribution networks and post press releases on various platforms, including social media sites.
  3. International Distribution: Coordinate international distribution of press releases with our international affiliates.
  4. Client Support: Act as the point of contact for clients requesting distribution and translation services, provide advice to clients as appropriate, and dispatch client requests to the CCS team based on priority level.
  5. Onboarding and Training: Assist in onboarding/training new clients on the Online Member Centre platform.
  6. Customer Service: Partner with internal stakeholder teams to mitigate and resolve customer service challenges.
  7. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma (or equivalent) plus a recognized post-secondary certificate in Journalism, Writing, Communications/PR or a related field is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service and/or coordination is required, with some experience in an editing role and an understanding of the Canadian media landscape preferred.
  • Skills: Basic knowledge of media communication, MS Office (including Excel, Word, and Outlook), and a CRM. Basic knowledge of HTML, Acrobat, and Photoshop is an asset.
  • Language: Fluent in both English and French.
  • Work Schedule: Shift Sunday-Thursday, 11 PM - 7 AM ET.
Working Environment and Demands
  • Multi-Tasking: Sustained requirement for multi-tasking, simultaneous multiple urgent demands, and/or work requiring attention to detail, subject to frequent, regular interruptions, or peak periods requiring an accelerated work pace or deadlines.
  • Work Schedule: Salaried job based on 37.5 hours/week, on various schedules (days, evenings, overnights, and weekends) with occasional requirement to work shifts that fall outside of regular shift.
  • Travel: No travel is required.
  • Physical Demands: Sustained requirement for manual dexterity/coordination for computer use and regular requirement for low-intensity mental, visual, or aural concentration for such activities as reading, inputting data, taking notes.
