Job Summary:

The Maintenance Site Supervisor role at York University is a key position that assists with the daily coordination of maintenance operations for 14 residence buildings on campus. This role is responsible for processing work orders, collaborating with the Building Operations team, and ensuring that requests are completed in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily maintenance operations for residence buildings, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for students.
  • Process work orders and collaborate with the Building Operations team to ensure timely completion.
  • Assist with planning and allocating resources for daily maintenance operations.
  • Ensure compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act and work closely with the Manager, Building Operations, and the Building Operations team to coordinate Housing contracted services and renewal projects.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma.
  • Class 'G' driver's license in good standing.
  • 1 year of management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in maintenance or facilities services environment.
  • Experience in using mobile applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of maintenance systems and quality assurance programs.
  • Knowledge of interior waste management.
  • Knowledge of building operating systems, equipment, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electronic access controls.
  • Knowledge of Collective Agreements.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Health and Safety Act.
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Able to attend to detail and be clear, concise, and accurate.
  • Able to adapt content, tone, medium, and style to audience to be inclusive.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Interpersonal and customer relation skills.
  • Computing skills including word-processing, spreadsheets, presentation, database, and asset tracking programs at a beginner level.
