Your Opportunity:
As a vital member of the Cardston Opioid Dependency Treatment team, the Mental Health Clinician plays a crucial role in delivering assessment and therapeutic services to clients facing a diverse range of mental health and addiction challenges through a trauma-informed approach. Utilizing various therapeutic modalities, including crisis intervention and case management, you will provide services to individuals, families, and groups, ensuring family-centered care is integrated where appropriate. Collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders is essential to maintain continuity and coordination of care. Additionally, you will engage in clinical consultation and contribute to education and capacity building efforts with team members and other service providers.
Position Overview:
In this role, you will collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, focusing on the delivery of comprehensive care tailored to the needs of individuals, families, and communities. Responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, clinical interviews, and screenings for clients with mental health and addiction disorders. You will work closely with various stakeholders and team members to ensure effective collaboration. Opportunities may arise for involvement in program planning and development, as well as providing supervision to practicum students. This position is open to qualified professionals including Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Registered Occupational Therapists.
Required Qualifications:Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications: a Master’s degree in Psychology, a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a focus on mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy with relevant educational components, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with experience in mental health assessment and crisis intervention, or a Bachelor’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Candidates must be actively registered or eligible for registration with the appropriate Alberta regulatory college.
