Your Opportunity:

Provide essential assessment and treatment services to individuals facing mental health and/or addiction challenges within a dedicated team environment. Utilize trauma-informed care principles to guide your approach, employing a range of modalities including crisis intervention and case management.

Description:

As a Mental Health Specialist, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care tailored to the unique needs of individuals, families, and communities. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Conducting thorough intake assessments, clinical interviews, and screenings for clients experiencing mental health and addiction disorders.
  • Collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination of care.
  • Contributing to program planning, development, and implementation initiatives.
  • Providing supervision and mentorship to practicum students (opportunities may vary).

This role is open to qualified professionals holding the following credentials: Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Registered Occupational Therapists.

Required Qualifications:

Possess a Master's degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work with a focus on mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Active or eligible for registration with the relevant Alberta regulatory college.
