Job Title: Vice President Human Resources & Chief Human Resources Officer

Location: Flin Flon, The Pas, or Thompson, MB (Position can be based at any of the three sites)

Job Summary:

The Vice-President Human Resources & Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is a key member of the Executive Leadership Council (ELC) at Northern Health Region. This role oversees the following critical areas:

  • Recruitment and Retention
  • Human Resource functions to ensure a positive labour/employee relationship

This position requires extensive service and travel to outlying communities and within the province year-round. The incumbent must fulfill the requirements of the Criminal Records/Vulnerable Person, Child Abuse Registry check and Adult Abuse Registry check, and adhere to all Northern Health Region policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all Human Resource functions to ensure a positive labour/employee relationship
  • Provide strategic and operational planning
  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies
  • Manage and develop a team of Human Resource professionals
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations

The ideal candidate will have a Baccalaureate or Graduate Degree in Human Resource Management, membership in the Canadian Association of Healthcare Human Resources Management (CAHHRM), and a valid Manitoba Class V driver's license. Five years' experience in a Senior Human Resource Advisor capacity within a unionized environment, preferably in a healthcare setting, is required. Five years' supervisory/management experience in a senior level role is also necessary.

The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and Internet. Experience with strategic and operational planning, as well as talent management and organizational development, is essential.
