Job Summary

The Human Resource Advisor will report to the Chief Administrative Officer and be responsible for providing human resource services and ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety legislation. This role is open to all applicants by the Human Rights Legislation of Manitoba, and reasonable accommodations are available to applicants with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide human resource services, including recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for new employees across all departments.
  • Lead and support management and staff in navigating employment matters, including progressive discipline, grievances, performance management, investigations, and Workplace Health and Safety compliance.
  • Develop and review job descriptions, performance reviews, and analyze HR data.
  • Recommend, develop, schedule, and track training and development courses.
  • Provide guidance and support to Department Heads, to ensure adherence to legislation, collective agreements, company policy, and Workplace Safety and Health regulations.
  • Manage assigned projects by researching appropriate information, analyzing the information gathered, and preparing recommendations for review by the Chief Administrative Officer.
Requirements
  • Post-Secondary Diploma/Certificate in Human Resources Management (alternate combinations of education and experience may be considered).
  • Solid understanding of Employment Standards, Human Rights Legislation, Labour Code, Workplace Health and Safety, and other relevant legislation and requirements.
  • Experience with Collective Agreements is an asset.
Work Environment

This position is a fast-paced office environment with tasks and priorities shifting rapidly. Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – some overtime may be required.
