Job Summary

The Vice-President Human Resources & Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is a key member of the Executive Leadership Council (ELC) at Northern Health Region. This senior leadership role oversees the Human Resources (HR) function, ensuring a positive labor/employee relationship and driving strategic initiatives to support the organization's goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies to attract, retain, and engage a diverse workforce
  • Lead the development and implementation of labor relations strategies to maintain positive relationships with unions and employees
  • Oversee the design and administration of compensation and benefits programs to ensure fairness and equity
  • Provide strategic guidance on organizational development and leadership development initiatives to drive business results
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and implement business plans and strategies
  • Ensure compliance with relevant labor legislation and collective agreements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including unions, employees, and senior leaders

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate or Graduate Degree in Human Resource Management or related field
  • Membership in the Canadian Association of Healthcare Human Resources Management (CAHHRM)
  • Valid Manitoba Class V driver's license and willingness to travel the region and province
  • Five (5) years' experience in a senior HR role, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Five (5) years' supervisory/management experience in a senior level role
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows-based programs, Adobe Acrobat, and Internet
  • Experience with strategic and operational planning, labor relations, and collective bargaining
