About the Role:

The Vice-President Human Resources & Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is a key member of the Executive Leadership Council (ELC) at Northern Health Region. This senior leadership role oversees the following areas:

  • Recruitment and Retention
  • Human Resource (HR) functions to ensure a positive labour/employee relationship

This position requires extensive service and travel to outlying communities and within the province year-round. The incumbent must fulfill the requirements of the Criminal Records/Vulnerable Person, Child Abuse Registry check and Adult Abuse Registry check, and adhere to all Northern Health Region (NHR) policies and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate or Graduate Degree in Human Resource Management (other combinations of education and experience may be considered)
  • Membership in the Canadian Association of Healthcare Human Resources Management (CAHHRM)
  • Valid Manitoba Class V driver's license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel the Region and Province year round
  • Five (5) years' experience in a Senior Human Resource Advisor capacity within a unionized environment preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Five (5) years' supervisory/management experience in a senior level role
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat and Internet
  • Experience with strategic and operational planning
