About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Director of Multifamily Sales and Business Development to lead our Multifamily Sales division to new heights. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving profitable sales growth, enhancing customer satisfaction, and expanding market share.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the team to maintain, develop, and grow relationships with key accounts in the multifamily and apartment replacement business channels.
  • Manage the Builder Sales division, including key account managers and project coordinators, through timely execution of engagements throughout the full project cycle.
  • Create and manage the annual budget for the division, driving profit opportunity execution and responsible for marketing budget execution for events and sponsorships.
  • Authorized signatory for contract management, working directly with the contract manager to ensure seamless execution.
  • Manage the profit and loss statement for the Multifamily Business division, creating new opportunities to land target accounts and grow new networks within the multifamily industry.
  • Participate in community events to reflect the company's brand and values within the market.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to formalize and improve support for the Multifamily Business division.
  • Drive managers and purchasing to develop, document, and monitor ongoing pricing management procedures to drive profitability and inventory turns.
  • Develop a strategic plan for the integration between the Multifamily Rental and Apartment division for future growth.
  • Analyze supplier pricing programs and propose changes with key account managers and managers to drive growth and profit.
  • Create and implement a structured approach for key account manager succession planning and recruitment.
  • Create and implement a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the Multifamily Business team for a sustainable future.
  • Support initiatives from other departments with effective change management leadership.
  • Ensure collaboration between sales, logistics, finance, technology, purchasing to accomplish company objectives.
Staffing and Training
  • Manage a team of 5 direct reports, including the Multifamily Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Manager of Sales Operations, Builder Sales Support Manager, and Contract Manager.
  • Train all new managers and key account managers, facilitating monthly meetings of the management group and quarterly quote reviews.
  • Train all new company leaders on the Multifamily Sales division, managing growth and resource planning for the division.
  • Engage in the annual performance review process, providing feedback and coaching to managers.
  • Backup for ADP approvals as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a role with profit management as a core function.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a professional sales environment.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a B2B sales environment.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma.
  • Experience managing people and driving key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ability to prioritize time and manage multiple short-term and long-term projects simultaneously.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated to achieve results.
  • Strong ability to public speak and provide ownership-level presentations.
  • Experience in conflict management and negotiations.
Preferred Experience
  • Residential construction experience.
  • Experience working with high-performance sales professionals.
  • Natural ability to communicate numeric information to others.
  • Strong understanding of Trail Appliances Ltd.'s internal systems.
  • Experience in a high-pressure environment.
  • Contract management experience.
  • Industry knowledge.
