Contracts Specialist - Bombardier Defense

  • Lead and/or assist in the negotiation of substantial international agreements concerning the sale of specialized aircraft for unique missions globally. You will draft intricate and tailored terms and conditions that align Bombardier's interests with the requirements of our distinguished clientele.
  • Prepare and negotiate various contracts, including aircraft purchase agreements, data licensing contracts, engineering service agreements, and aircraft modification contracts.
  • Facilitate aircraft delivery by providing continuous commercial and legal support to both internal teams and external partners.
  • Enhance business outcomes by identifying potential risks and, in collaboration with internal stakeholders, develop innovative and effective strategies to safeguard aircraft delivery timelines.
  • Engage with management to promptly address unresolved contractual risks.
  • Initiate communication with clients, including invoicing, in accordance with contractual agreements and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of processes and governance related to departmental functions.
  • Opportunities for international travel may be available.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • You possess a blend of business insight and risk management expertise.
  • A university degree in law or business is required; an MBA is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • You bring a wealth of experience, with ten to fifteen years in a law firm or a large corporate environment.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in negotiating commercial transactions and drafting related agreements is essential.
  • You are a proactive leader who works independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive communication skills are vital.
  • Exceptional drafting skills in English are required.
  • You are adaptable to flexible, extended, or irregular working hours based on business needs, and can travel on short notice.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is necessary; knowledge of an additional language is a plus.
  • Experience or familiarity with the aviation and defense sectors is beneficial, as is knowledge of U.S. Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARs).
