Job Summary

The Government of the Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Management Board Analyst to join their team. As a key member of the Department of Finance, this individual will provide independent and objective analysis, and broad financial, policy, and strategic advice on government-wide operations, priorities, and new strategies with financial consequences, to the highest level decision-makers in Government.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to the Financial Management Board and senior managers on programs, initiatives, and strategic plans that have financial impacts and broad cross-departmental implications.
  • Monitor compliance with Financial Management Board direction and all governing authorities and legislation.
  • Collaborate with departments and senior managers to develop and implement financial management strategies and policies.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to support informed decision-making.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have a Graduate Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a Professional Accounting Designation, plus 5 years of work experience in financial management, planning, and program design and/or evaluation.
