About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Regular part-time Plasma Collection Nurse to join our dedicated Plasma Operations team.

The Plasma Operations team plays a crucial role in supporting Canadian Blood Services by safely collecting plasma to produce life-saving products. In this position, you will provide administrative support for all program activities and ensure compliance with all regulations, standards, and good manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities

Utilizing your strong communication skills, you will conduct donor registration and confidential screening to assess eligibility while fostering a positive donor experience. Drawing on your interpersonal skills, you will provide donors with essential information, guidance, and support regarding plasma donation. Leveraging your expertise, you will offer coaching and consultation to donor center staff, serving as a team lead during collection events as necessary. In a collaborative team environment, you will assist in the plasma collection process, contributing to the daily efforts that save lives. At community mobile events, you will help set up booths, tables, and equipment to ensure donor clinics are properly organized for use.

Desired Qualifications

Completion of an accredited nursing program and a current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the province is required. A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is preferred, along with certification in First Aid and CPR. Previous experience as a preceptor or in coaching roles is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, with the ability to learn new systems and programs. Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset to enhance the donor experience.
