About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a skilled Plasma Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Plasma Operations team, you will play a vital role in supporting the collection of plasma in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Donor Engagement: Provide exceptional customer service to plasma donors, ensuring a positive experience throughout the collection process.
  • Phlebotomy and Plasma Collection: Perform venipuncture according to established standards, monitoring donors for safety and comfort, and providing post-donation care and instruction.
  • Product Preparation: Ensure completeness of information in our IT system for products, complete the labelling process for products, and prepare products for freezing, centrifuging, and shipment to our testing facilities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the framework of continuous improvement and implementation of best practice standards with the team.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution, preferably in science/health-related fields of study.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of progressive experience working with the public, particularly in a high customer-focused environment.
  • Skills: Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs, knowledge of and experience working with current Good Manufacturing Practices.
