About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is in search of a Regular part-time Plasma Nurse to join our dynamic Plasma Operations team.

The Plasma Operations team plays a crucial role in supporting Canadian Blood Services by safely collecting plasma to create life-saving products. In this position, you will provide administrative support for all program activities while ensuring compliance with all regulations, standards, and good manufacturing practices.

Formula for Success
  • Utilizing your effective communication skills with donors, you will conduct registration and confidential screening to assess eligibility and foster a positive donor experience.
  • With your strong interpersonal abilities, you will provide donors with essential information, guidance, and advice regarding plasma donation.
  • Drawing on your expertise, you will offer coaching and consultation to donor center staff, serving as a team lead for collection events as required.
  • With your excellent interpersonal skills, you will collaborate in a diverse team environment to assist in the collection of plasma, which saves lives daily.
  • At community mobile events, you will help set up booths, tables, and other equipment to ensure donor clinics are adequately prepared for use.
Desired Education and Skills
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program and current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the province is required.
  • Two years of nursing experience is considered an asset, along with certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Previous experience as a preceptor or in coaching roles is advantageous.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, with the ability to learn new systems and programs.
  • Proficiency in a second language is an asset to enhance the donor experience.
