About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Temporary Part-time Plasma Associate to join our dynamic Plasma Operations team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the collection of plasma in a safe and efficient manner to enable the production of safe blood products.
  • Perform venipuncture and other phlebotomy procedures according to established standards and protocols.
  • Monitor donors for safety and comfort, and provide post-donation care and instruction.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of information in our IT system for products, and prepare products for freezing, centrifuging, and shipment to our testing facilities.
  • Contribute to the framework of continuous improvement and implementation of best practice standards with the team.
Requirements
  • Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution, preferably in science/health-related fields of study.
  • Completion of an accredited training program in phlebotomy is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience working with the public, particularly in a high customer-focused environment.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with current Good Manufacturing Practices.
