Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse - Detox and Addictions

At Edgewood Health Network Inc, we are committed to providing quality treatment for Canadians. We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our interdisciplinary team in our Detox and Addictions Residential Treatment program.

Job Summary:

The LPN will provide medical care, recovery therapies, and everyday care and support to clients in our Detox and Addictions Residential Treatment program. The successful candidate will have a valid and current LPN license with the College of Nurses of British Columbia, trauma-informed training/experience, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care and interventions, vital sign monitoring, and medication administration for patients during medically supervised detox process as per facility protocols.
  • Perform clinical nursing assessments during the patient intake and discharge process as per facility policies and procedures.
  • Document nursing assessments, nursing care, behaviors, and related progress in KIPU electronic medical record system.
  • Communicate with physician regarding acute medical concerns, medication orders, detox protocols, patient progress, medical services required, and discharge prescriptions.
  • Collaborate with Physician, Clinical Counselors, Aftercare and Admissions Coordinators, Support Staff, and the Administrative Team via telephone, email, Microsoft Teams, KIPU documentation, and in-person meetings to maintain continuity of care.
Requirements:
  • Valid and Current LPN License with the College of Nurses of British Columbia.
  • Trauma-informed training/experience an asset.
  • Must be able to read and write and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to understand and follow directions.
  • Must have good hearing and eyesight.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Level C.
  • Clear Criminal record check through the Ministry of Justice.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License in good standing.
