Role Summary

What is the opportunity?

The RBC Investor and Services and Technology division is in search of a Senior Technical Systems Analyst to enhance an application dedicated to processing foreign exchange transactions.

In this capacity, you will take charge of the design and development of solutions on the Kondor+ platform, which is crucial for various RBC initiatives.

The Senior Technical Systems Analyst will collaborate with both IT and Business teams to evaluate, investigate, and analyze business, technical, and system requirements, implementing technical solutions that align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage in the technical design, development, and deployment of application systems. Utilize comprehensive knowledge, skills, and practices to execute tasks effectively.

  • Coordinate and engage in walkthrough reviews of all technical specifications, programs, and unit test plans.
  • Analyze issues and requirements presented by business stakeholders.
  • Develop, code, and document programs of varying complexity using languages such as SQL, Java, and Unix scripting based on the target solution.
  • Contribute to the successful completion of projects within budget and timelines by identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Diagnose root causes and resolve incidents and project-related issues.
  • Oversee all aspects of testing and verification, ensuring thorough execution of all tasks.
  • Ensure comprehensive technical documentation and training materials are available.
  • Deliver new design and development specifications based on client requirements while adhering to established procedures and methodologies.
  • Create test transactions and execute tests to identify errors and modify application programs accordingly.
  • Participate in post-implementation reviews of application development content and processes, fostering a culture of continuous learning by sharing insights with colleagues.
  • Assist in the implementation of application programs, addressing any existing or newly identified bugs.

Qualifications:

  • Strong grasp of technology and/or the financial services sector.
  • Proficiency in IT Systems and environments, particularly the Kondor suite of tools (K+, K+TP, KGR).
  • A minimum of 3 years of development experience in banking technology is preferred.
  • Solid skills in SQL, Linux, and Java.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with IT Standards, Methodologies, System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and ITIL processes.
  • Engage in post-implementation reviews of application development content and processes, continually striving to create a learning environment by sharing experiences with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DevOps automation tools (e.g., Helios, UrbanCodeDeploy, GitHub).
  • Strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across functions and business units.
