The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Birth Unit Operating Room/PACU Nurse to join our team at IWK Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide safe and holistic care to birthing families throughout the intrapartum and postpartum continuum.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver family-centred nursing care to birthing patients, newborns, and their families in the Birth Unit.
  • Work closely with the Birth Unit Team Leader and the interdisciplinary team to provide safe and holistic care.
  • Collaborate with families to promote a positive and empowering experience.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Registered, or eligible to be registered, with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing required.
  • Perioperative nursing course required, or a commitment to complete within two years of starting position.
  • Recent intrapartum nursing experience required.
  • Recent Birth Unit experience an asset.
  • Current BCLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications required.
