Job Title: Senior Client Relationship Specialist

As a Senior Client Relationship Specialist, you will be pivotal in delivering outstanding customer service, aligned with CIBC's commitment to fostering strong client connections. Your role will involve assisting clients in reaching their immediate and long-term financial objectives by thoroughly understanding their requirements, identifying opportunities to enhance their engagement with CIBC, and fostering their loyalty. In addition to driving business growth, you will address clients' daily operational needs, manage their transactions, and ensure accurate cash balance reconciliations in accordance with CIBC's standards. You will also provide continuous support to resolve clients' banking inquiries, as well as their investment, financial, and credit requirements, by offering a comprehensive suite of SME banking solutions or referring them to specialized colleagues. Collaborating with experts across CIBC is essential to ensure that clients receive the most informed and knowledgeable service. A key aspect of your success will be proactively expanding your client portfolio by strengthening relationships with both new and existing clients who require intricate business solutions, such as treasury management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Development - Gain insights into the local market and potential clientele, devise a detailed sales strategy to attract new clients, and utilize strong networking and relationship-building skills to create business opportunities. Leverage CIBC's extensive range of SME solutions to adopt a needs-based approach that results in loyal clients and increased referrals.
  • Client Engagement - Prioritize each client's experience and build personal connections to ensure every interaction is impactful. Provide reliable financial guidance and solutions tailored to client needs while nurturing a network to establish new client relationships.
  • Relationship Enhancement - Assist clients and actively seek new client acquisition opportunities through referrals and partnerships with banking centers to present up-to-date financial products and solutions tailored for the SME sector.
  • Community Involvement - Engage in local marketing and outreach initiatives. Broaden your network to forge lasting connections that yield business opportunities with SMEs.

Qualifications

  • Proven Experience: A minimum of two years in business banking. Strong understanding of cash management products and services, cash flow analysis, and financial assessments of businesses to identify and seize new business opportunities. Established professional network within the local market.
  • Professional Credentials: Current completion of either the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or the Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC), OR a commitment to obtain the CFP designation within 90 days of employment.
  • Client-Focused: Communicate with the intent to find the best solutions, consistently exceeding expectations as a matter of principle.
