What You'll Do

As a Product Designer at Canadian Tire Corporation, you'll be part of a passionate team dedicated to creating innovative outdoor gear. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional partners and conducting research to develop compelling product concepts that meet the needs of our customers.

  • Concept Development & Refinement: You'll translate design briefs into tangible product ideas, leveraging your creativity to generate fresh concepts while also refining existing designs.
  • Technical Expertise: You'll create detailed technical specifications and collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure products meet quality standards and cost targets.
  • Communication & Collaboration: You'll effectively communicate your design vision through sketches, renderings, and presentations, working closely with product managers, sourcing teams, and brand marketing.
  • Market Research & Trend Analysis: You'll stay informed about global market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscapes to ensure our products remain relevant and desirable.

What You Bring

  • A genuine passion for the outdoors and a deep understanding of outdoor recreation equipment.
  • An accredited degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a product design role, preferably within the sporting goods industry.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop), with additional 3D modeling skills being highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite and PLM (Product Line Management) tools.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing techniques, including cut-and-sew, screen printing, embroidery, injection molding, and more.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
